At 1357 hours Wednesday, Stepney Fire was dispatched to Easton as mutual aid for a structure fire at 760 Stepney Road, Route 59, just over the Monroe-Easton town line. The first Stepney unit on scene four minutes later was Engine 102 with six firefighters, followed by Truck 100, and Chief 151. Firefighter Dave Lewis Sr. onboard 102, sized up the fire in house and attached barn as “heavy smoke, heavy fire”. The crews then went to work under heavy snow conditions and temperatures in the upper 20’s.
Rescue 120 was requested by Easton later on for its cascade system.
Botsford Fire was requested by 151 to stand by at Stepney Station 1 (thanks, gang!).
The fire was placed under control at 1706 hours by Easton Fire. Fire operations were complete at 1750hrs.
